The Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC) was founded in 1987 with the objective
of achieving Shipping Act reform to allow U.S. ag exporters to be more competitive in the
international market. Today, as “the voice of US agriculture exporters in ocean transportation
policy”, we address the complete agriculture and forest products supply chain – truck, rail,
and ports, as well as regulatory and commercial challenges.The AgTC monitors government and commercial activity, facilitates constructive dialogue
between the AgTC members and carriers, ports and other service providers, and keeps
AgTC Members up-to-date on how these will impact their business.The AgTC works with Congress, the Federal Maritime Commission, Customs and Border
Protection, USDA and other agencies to change laws and regulations, when necessary,
that would harm agriculture; we support laws that will benefit agriculture. Finally, we
assist AgTC members on an individual basis with transportation-related problems. -
